Turkey's national air carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) carried 3.9 million passengers in January-February period of 2010, with a 25 percent rise in the figures of the same term of 2009.
A total of 3.1 million passengers had preferred to travel with THY in January-February 2009, a statement from the company said on Friday.
THY's occupancy rate also rose up to 69.1 percent during the same period, the statement added.
THY is one of the fastest growing air carriers in Europe. The Istanbul-based airline is using Istanbul's Ataturk Airport as a hub for flights to Europe, Asia and Africa in partnership with the Star Alliance group of airlines.
The number of THY's passengers in last month was up by 26 percent over the same period of last year.
THY's occupancy rate increased by 3.2 percent on a year-on-year basis and reached 68.6 percent last month.
